I disapprove of the 996 work ethic at Chinese tech companies. Though it seems to have been productive, I strongly believe Chinese companies suffer higher rates of unwanted turnover and crippled morale in the longer term.?Employees simply burn out and quit their jobs. I think most people prefer a good work-life balance. In addition to this, China’s developing economy and rising standards of living guarantees that more and more millennials are no longer willing to put in the long hours for a meager paycheck. As the only child, most receive a lot of support from their families, including a financial safety net, should their careers not go as planned. So, I just don’t think it will work in the long run. ?

我完全不同意中国科技公司996的职业伦理。尽管这样看起来很高效,但长期来看,这些公司将会出现不良的人员流动,而且挫伤士气。员工们会过劳,然后辞职。我认为大多数人还是更喜欢保持工作与生活的平衡。另外,中国飞速增长的经济和更高品质的生活决定了新世纪的宝宝们将不再愿意为了微薄的工资付出长时间劳动。作为独生子女,大部分人都从家中得到了很多支持,这就包括即使职业不顺,也有财务安全的支撑。因此,我不认为996这样的工作模式能够长久。
